HTC Home is a free widget which shows animated weather forecast and current date & time on your desktop. The interface of HTC Home widget is pretty similar to the interface of HTC Communicators. However, HTC Home is not affiliated with HTC Inc.
HTC Home: Animated Clock & Weather Widget for Windows OS.
Software & Version: HTC Home 1.10 build 110 final release
Look & Feel: Many ordinary & extra ordinary animated gadgets are available for windows sidebar, but HTC Home is not one of them. It has very pretty interface which would attract you more than any other gadget. Overall the look and feel is awesome and at least it will not disturb you when you’re busy with your work.
Customization: HTC home is fully customizable. You can change time format, City and Place, Size, Position, Language etc. However, I didn’t find any option to change it’s color. Take a look at customization options of HTC Home:
- Change Locations and Time format form 24 hours to 12 hours and vice versa.
- Choose temperature format in Fahrenheit or Celsius
- Enable or disable Aero glass effect
- Change size, position and language of the widget
- Change fonts and weather display
- Enable or Disable automatic wallpaper changing
- Enable or Disable animation
- Pin or Unpin Option
In short, HTC Home is preloaded with many customizable options and It is very easy to apply your own customization.
Installation and OS: HTC Home is a portable widget so it does not require installation. However, it will be downloaded by web installer (Online Extractor). It supports Windows 7 and Windows vista only. Microsoft .NET framework 3.5 must be installed on your system.
Disk space and Memory usage: Hard disk space consumed by HTC Home is approx 524 KB, which is highly appreciable and the Memory usage is approx 37-38 MB which is pretty high. If you don’t have enough RAM (less than 2 GB) then you may get slow system performance.
Conclusion: HTC Home 1.10 is a cool widget which consists of many eye-catching features. However memory usage is little bit high but it is ignorable if you have sufficient physical memory. At least you should try, i hope you’ll like it.
