If you have a parked domain and you want to launch a new website with it then you must know the pitfalls that you should avoid and how you could start your new website with your parked domain. When I started this blog, I purchased the domain and immediately made it live but if you already own a domain which is parked then scenario would be different for you.
How Parked Domains could affect a new website?
Google does have a “Parked Domain? Detector”. It assures that the parked domains must not appear in Google search results. It’s a fact that pages present on parked domains aren’t useful for users and Instead of parking your domain, Google endorse to put something nice on it.
Matt Cutts on his video have mentioned that if your domain is already parked and you are going to start a new website with it then it will take a little while to process the page because parked domain detector will believe that domain is not parked. To avoid such cases you need to put small effort which will make sure that the launch of your website will be effective in terms of SEO.
Advise for the Parked Domain owners & New Domain Buyers
Before launching the website, plan your activities 4 weeks before and write something about your upcoming website on your parked domain because if you directly launch the website then Google will take some time to re-index it and exclude it from Parked domains list.
Write your future plans of that domain and let people know about the website by writing coming soon articles, services or products, who you are and what you do etc.. When you put such content before launching your website, you have already given sufficient time to Google parked domain detector to process your request to remove your website from parked domains list.
Also, Make sure that you’ve written a paragraph about the website. You can also use images but make sure that the pre-release content should not be a small sentence and or a tag. It is also advisable to create few genuine backlinks for your upcoming website.
My advice in this scenario would be install a script such as WordPress, PhpBB, SMF, PhpNuke, ZenCart or any other script that you’re going to put on your website when you launch it. After doing this write a post or a thread about the website, authors, services, products etc.. By doing this you’ll become habituated with the script and you could also test plugins, themes, any coding modification and of course overall appearance of your website.
This small effort will make sure the effective launch of your website and Google will be able to show the website content on its search results as quickly as possible.
