Schema.org is a Joint effort from major search engines such as Google, Bing, Yahoo! & Yandex to improve the web search results by creating schema supported data markup called ‘Microdata’. On page schema markup helps search engines to understand the information and provide valuable results for users. A normal user will visit your WordPress blog and instantly recognize the website content, niche, service etc.. Search engines are pretty dumb enough to understand your website contents and articles and you need to tell them about your posts and articles in the requested manner and schema supported markup helps you to do the same.
Schema supports Microdata and Search engines, web crawlers, and browsers can extract and process Microdata from a web page and use it to provide a richer browsing experience for users. Microdata helps search engines and web crawlers better understand what information is contained in a web page, providing better search results. The bad news for WordPress users is: ‘WordPress strips the Microdata from the page’ and you have to look for alternate options until WordPress releases the fix. There are few plugins for WordPress which allows to put schema supported data markup [Microdata] to your WordPress Blog.
Schema Creator by Raven WordPress Plugin allows you to insert Schema.org microdata to WordPress posts. Based on the nature of the Post you can specify the post type or schema such as ‘Review’, ‘Product’, ‘Person’, ‘Even’, ‘Organization’, ‘Movie’, ‘Book’ and ‘Recipe’. To insert schema to your post/Page click on icon above the Post/Page rich text editor (next to the Add Media icon).
Fill in the form, and then insert it into your page/post. The plugin uses shortcode, so you can easily edit the schema after you create it.
If you think your post is not about the Schema Type given in the Schema Creator form, leave it blank and do not use Schema creator for that post.
